Alcan Cable Supports American Red Cross Missouri Tornado Relief Campaign

Atlanta, GA  6/27/2011

The employees of Alcan Cable recently participated in a donation campaign to support the American Red Cross Missouri Tornado Relief program which provided immediate assistance to the victims of the recent devastating tornadoes in Joplin and Sedalia, Missouri. A total of $3,500 was raised by Alcan Cable employees and the company to provide food, shelter and comfort to those driven from their homes by this disaster.

Six employees of the Alcan Cable Sedalia plant received damage to their homes and property as a result of the Sedalia tornado on May 25th. Alcan provided hotel rooms and food to the employees and their families directly affected by the violent storm. Employees from the Sedalia plant assisted their affected fellow employees with clean up efforts including the moving of all household items from one employee’s home that was completely destroyed.

“Alcan Cable employees have demonstrated their support to the victims of the Missouri tornadoes by not only helping those who are a part of the Alcan Cable family, but the many others in the surrounding communities of our Sedalia manufacturing operations,” said Jack Miller, President, Alcan Cable.
